Into The Woods Jr Callbacks

In Into The Woods Jr by limelight_admin

Hello!

Thank you so much for auditioning for Into the Woods, Jr. We both enjoyed watching so many engaging performances!

We had an overwhelming amount of talent at the auditions, but cannot call back everyone due to time restraints. If you did not receive a callback, please don't be discouraged. Keep training and auditioning! We hope to see you at a future audition.

Please remember, if you are not cast this time around, it is ok. We have a very specific vision as to how this story will be told- you may not have been right for this production, but you must learn and grow from this experience and prepare for the next production that you will be right for!

If you were not cast and are looking for feedback, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are happy to discuss our decisions with you.

Remember that auditions for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (musical) are only 2 weeks away! Wednesday, September 25th!

The cast list will be posted by Monday, September 16. Our first rehearsal, read through, and parent/cast meeting will be Wednesday, September 18 from 6-9pm.

FIND OUT YOUR AUDITION FEEDBACK - We're doing a special workshop this Wednesday from 6-7:30pm called "Callback Magic." At the workshop, we will be going over our top 5 tricks to put your best self forward and will use material from Into the Woods Jr to help you feel more comfortable going into the callback. We will also give each person the opportunity to hear their audition feedback and get feedback on one aspect of their callback assignment. To sign up, go to: http://studio3arts.ticketleap.com/callbackmagic $15 per person.

EVERYONE AUDITIONING should learn the following in addition to what is listed for the character:
FINALE PART 4 measures 24-51 - found in the Narrator's Score
It does not need to be memorized.

Here are some tips to help you with your callback:
Your audition starts the moment you arrive. I am looking to create a strong cast full of youth who want to tell this story. Please come prepared to convince me that you need to be here – a distracted actor is one I will not be casting.
Make BIG decisions with your character choices. I am interested in working with actors who are not afraid to step outside of themselves in BIG ways! Every part requires the actor to commit to their character’s feelings, beliefs, and most importantly, their wants. On Saturday, I want to see what you can bring to this character.
Be directable. I am looking for actors who can take direction and ask for clarification if needed. The actor’s job is to tell a story, and they do this by bringing their imaginations and energy into the script. The Director’s job is to refine this energy into a message the audience can understand. Bring your BIG ideas but allow me to refine them into something that communicates.
Have FUN! We are going to be working hard over the next few months, but this work should be rooted in FUN! If we are not enjoying yourselves, the audience won’t enjoy themselves. Demonstrate to me how much you enjoy performing and practicing your craft! We will be exploring new things together and learning about each other. Let’s have fun while we do this!
